I couldn't have imagined this 13 years ago, and nor could have its co-founder Crimsun. Back then the reasoning behind this whole endeavor was relatively simple: "cause everyone else had virtual squadron going so why not us?" and the goals and objectives of that brand-spanking new virtual squadron were just as simple, lofty back then to us at the time, but simple by our standards today. We merely wanted to be recognized in our community. We all know now that we more than achieved that. Being the last of the JCN squadrons we owe our forerunners some credit, if it wasn't for their example of organizing then, of course, we wouldn't be here. We carry a legacy, the memory, and the history of an entire community with us. I am honored to have met most of you face to face and to literally see for myself that you are as proud to be a part of this journey that was started 13 years back as I am to have begun it.
Y'know, a few days ago me and Kewell had to in part some of our wisdom to a fledgling virtual group. When they asked how long we had been doing this we told them - 13 years. I could tell immediately a few thought it was utter BS that an online group could go for that long. But our age now allows to just sluff away others' mere dismal of our achievements. And we have a few of them to be sure. How many squadrons get banned from nearly every popular server on both combat aviation Sims? How many get banned off a server for using a sub-standard fighter and beating the host squadron's aces in their best planes? For us, we know the answer to both of those questions. How many loved the things we have setup?
We are doing what we have always done in everything we do. We figure it out.
Today I am grateful to still call you all squad mates. Even more grateful to call you friends. Let’s enjoy our 13th year, enjoy our time amongst each other, and of course enjoy all of that while flying. -S- Happy Birthday 13th, 77th!
